CIA aware of rampant corruption and embezzlement of US aid in Ukraine

Seymour Hersh, an investigative journalist, has released a report alleging that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had knowledge of extensive corruption taking place in Ukraine, including the embezzlement of US aid.

According to the report, the Ukrainian government has utilized funds from American taxpayers to purchase diesel fuel from Russia for the purpose of supplying its military. Additionally, the report posits that Ukrainian officials are engaging in a form of competition to establish shell companies that may facilitate export deals with private arms vendors across the globe.

An intelligence official who was present at the meeting, the topic of corruption was brought up in a January meeting between CIA Director William Burns and Zelensky. The official stated that Burns conveyed a remarkable message to Zelensky.

Hersh wrote: “The senior generals and government officialsin Kiev were angry at what they saw as Zelensky’s greed, so Burns told the Ukrainian president, because ‘he was taking a larger share of the skim money than was going to the generals.’”

In recent weeks, a number of classified documents, including those labeled as "top secret," have popped up on the internet. Authorities have deemed this intelligence breach as potentially one of the most devastating in several decades.

However, the contents of these documents have yet to be fully disclosed. Nonetheless, the leaked materials present a captivating and unprecedented perspective on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict that commenced in February of 2022. The collection of documents discloses Ukraine's significant losses in the war, particularly in Bakhmut, as well as the pressing issue of "critical shortages of air defense munitions."

Ukraine has been entrenched in widespread systemic corruption long before the onset of Russia's invasion in February of last year.
