DiCaprio is among the notable individuals associated with Low, a fugitive who is currently confronted with distinct federal criminal accusations concerning his purported theft of $4.5 billion from Malaysia's 1MDB sovereign wealth fund.

The financier, recognized for compensating Hollywood celebrities to socialize with him, backed DiCaprio's benevolent establishment and furnished monetary resources for "The Wolf of Wall Street," the 2013 motion picture in which DiCaprio played a leading role and was a contender for an Academy Award.

The Justice Department in 2018 reached a civil settlement with the film's production company, which forfeited $60 million that was believed to have been stolen from 1MDB.

Since then, DiCaprio has been cooperating with the U.S. government.
